I only ask because this morning illustrates an issue I've been having with buses in our city.
Cycling to the train station I detoured via Rougier Street (always a risk, I know) to find it was clogged with buses.
Anyway, at the end I slip between two but I'm forced onto the pavement but on jumping back into the road I hear a bang and check the pannier is still on.
It is...but only for a few seconds more.
It comes off by the lights and lands in the road. I stop and drag the bike back to see a single decker bus (it's a blue one so may have been the Coastliner) narrowly (and I mean by millimetres) miss the pannier.
I'm not very happy to see another bus round the corner but he stops to let me retrieve the bag. So thank you!
But the bag has a laptop computer in it - would they pay out if I made a claim for a bus having (what appeared to be deliberately) driven over it?
In most parts of York the bus drivers are considerate but in town it's like the Whacky Races some days!
Any thoughts gratefully received.
