When I was reporting for Calendar News I used to cover the subject of Bridlington's bid for a marina on a regular basis.
To be honest I'm surprised that this application is still going.
Leaving aside the issues of cost and its immense size - who would actually use it?

PLANS for the £50 million marina for Bridlington could be under threat.
Government spending cuts, including the possible axing of regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, could hit the future of what has been described as a vital part of Bridlington's regeneration.
Coun Stephen Parnaby, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "We are still fully committed to Bridlington and know its importance in the region.
"As far as the marina is concerned we have to be realistic when schools, hospitals and other services are being hit throughout the country, but we are not giving up."
