Inflatable greenhouse gets a ‘green’ thumbs-up!

We went to visit the GreenSafe stand at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show last Friday and we were very impressed. The greenhouses looked fantastic and GreenSafe directors Daniel and Michael were there offering information.

Lots of people were stopping and asking lots of questions - the lads were rushed off their feet! It was good to see too that they made a number of sales during the event. In the coming days we will probably paste some photos here that we took there.

Here's part of the Press Release we have distributed today:

Visitors to the popular Harrogate Spring Flower Show gave a resounding ‘thumbs-up’ to a new product which is attracting lots of attention.

The green-fingered fans thought that the GreenSafe portable greenhouse was a very impressive product.

Daniel Newbould is a Director of the Leeds firm which is distributing the greenhouse and he said: “The reaction we got was just incredible. Everyone thought the GreenSafe was a great product.

“We had lots of inquiries and we took a lot of orders. The Show’s visitors were all impressed by the quality and ease-of-use of the GreenSafe. One of the most popular questions we were asked was: Why hasn’t something like this been invented before?”

Golfers can win a £25,000 car!

We think this is a great idea for a competition - all you have to do is land a hole-in-one and win the keys to a £25,000 Merecedes-Benz!

Sadly, we don't have those skills here (despite being asked to go on many golfing days!) but we wish the organisers all the best because they are raising money for a worthy local cause.

Here is the Press Release:

Golfers can putt their skills to good use to win a car

Keen golfers and non-golfers alike are challenged to produce the drive of their life to get the drive of their life in a novel competition, which will see someone win a brand new Mercedes-Benz worth £25,000.
Organised by the Golftorium, the UK's biggest indoor golf centre, the competition is open to anyone who feels they have what it takes to land a hole-in-one.
The qualifying period takes place between 1 and 15 May, to make the final cut on 22 May. Entry for the qualification is free and participants will be pitching their way to winning the Mercedes-Benz by pitting their skills against the 7th hole at Pebble Beech, which has a famous 100 yard approach to the pin.
To progress to the final, golfers will need to land their chip nearest the pin to make the cut. The 100 finalists will then have the tougher obstacle of landing a hole-in-one at the 14th hole at Harbour Town, which is a highlight of the PGA tour.
The first lucky driver to complete this challenge will pick up the keys to their new vehicle, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz Central.
"We are already getting a lot of interest in the competition and while the first shot is free, extra shots will have a small charge,” said Manchester's Golftorium director, Craig Woodward.  “All the money raised is going to a good cause; we are donating the money to a newly formed local charity called HAWCS, the Habitat and Wildlife Conservation Society.
“This is a great opportunity for golfers of any standard to come along and pitch themselves against the competition. Getting a hole-in-one isn't just about skill, there's a great deal of luck involved so it’s anyone’s game!”
Craig added: “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate an achievement like this than driving off in a new Mercedes Benz.  It's a fantastic competition offering the change to win a brilliant prize, have some fun and help charity at the same time."
More details can be found at www.golftorium.com or call the centre on 0161 228 0681.

The GreenSafe portable greenhouse has now been launched nationwide. Hopefully, you will be reading more about this impressive product over the coming weeks. We've also been talking to a major TV show about getting it on but they are off for the summer now. They are still keen to get the GreenSafe down when they are back on air though.

A portable greenhouse which is set to revolutionise gardening has been launched.
The GreenSafe can be erected for just part of a year and is easily moved to suit a gardener's requirements.
Daniel Newbould, a director of GreenSafe International which distributes the greenhouse, said: "This is a fantastic product and we are bringing it to the UK and Ireland for the first time.
“There are already more than 10,000 happy customers across Europe and we believe that thousands more here will join them.”
With a recent study revealing that 72 per cent of greenhouse owners admitting to not using their greenhouse for more than six months of every year, Daniel believes there is a vast untapped market.
He said: “So many people have a greenhouse they rarely use that it’s a waste of valuable space!"

York cyclists offered Twitter updates

One of the reasons I enjoy living and working in York is that I cycle just about everywhere.

Normally, it's a very safe thing to do - we don't have that many idiot drivers coming too close to us or ignoring us.

So I'm really on board with this initiative.

AN INTERNET campaign has been launched to promote cycling in one of Yorkshire's most congested cities and help prevent traffic tailbacks.

Officials behind the Cycling City York project have set up Facebook and Twitter online profiles to provide regular updates about events and activities.

Cyclists who sign up will then be sent alerts giving them latest information about the York scheme.

Read the Yorkshire Post story

Sadly there are no links in the story and the Council website is not much better.

So, despite the PR 'experts' not putting the links in, you can follow @CyclingCityYork on Twitter. I'm the third person to 'follow'!

Yorkshire fans to get a better definition of the county

A HALIFAX-based TV firm has made a major investment in HD cameras to boost its service to clients.
The firm also makes a very popular series about Yorkshire tourist attractions and is set to revolutionise the DVD market.
Steve Lord, a director of Chromavision, said: “We have made the investment in HD cameras to offer something very few other media companies do.
“In addition, we start production this summer of another in our series of Picture Postcard Yorkshire which sell around the world."
